Willow Johnson is a Canadian voice actor who was born and bought up in Vancouver. She works for the Ocean Group which is based in Vancouver. She has done the voice over for numerous characters in different animated series. In addition to lending her voice for the character of Kikyo in Inuyasha, her prominent credits on television include Kido senshi Gandamu, Ranma ½, My Little Pony Tales, Madison, Highlander, Brain Powerd, Escaflowne, Project ARMS, Rockman.exe, Ben Hur and Godiva’s etc. She has also voice acted in various Ranma ½ and Inuyasha movies besides movies like Escaflowne, Garou densetsu etc. In addition she has also appeared as an actress in videos like Please Save My Earth, Key: The Metal Idol, Fatal Fury 1 and Fatal Fury 2 etc.
Role in Inuyasha
In Inuyasha, she has done the voice over for the character of Kikyo. She was a high priestess in an earlier era and was killed while saving the Jewel of Four Souls from falling into evil hands. She is later reborn as Kagome but when her body is restored from her ashes, she manages to retain some part of Kagome’s soul in that body and thus comes back to life. For a long time she believed that Inuyasha was the reason behind her death. But later she learns that it was due to a trap laid by the evil Naraku. It is also revealed that in her earlier life Kikyo and Inuyasha had been lovers.
